whaddup dreamwidth here's one post about three pretty disparate topics
up first: i continue whacking my way through the osemanverse with "radio silence", her second novel. i owned this one and had read it before and for some reason remembered it as being extremely emotionally devastating. my memory was, uh, wrong. i liked the book, i enjoyed the mini-world of aled's podcast, i liked carys and daniel as supporting characters, i wish frances had some more personality to her. i did feel bad for aled but i wasn't left feeling like "oh god i can't touch this book again for another five years" you know? because that's how i felt about it after reading it for the first time, oddly.
up second: i've been down the vcha rabbit hole recently. they seem like really nice girls, if very young. why can't 23 year olds be in pop groups? asking for a friend. (it's fine. i'm going to be in a barbershop quartet and that's how i'm going to live out my idol dreams. ok? ok.) mostly my commentary on vcha is that i NEED them to cover wannabe by the spice girls right this instant. they would rock it!!! wannabe is like, THE western girl group song, we've had destiny's child and little mix and fifth harmony but wannabe is like... everyone knows that song. i need it from them so desperately.
up third: some updates on my pdjp list! i've added takahashi hina (cutie), sakata kotone (invested in her story and want to see her succeed), and hatta mena (she kept standing out to me and then was really kind about helping out the lower-graded girls) to my picklist. i've also remembered why shimizu keiko is on the list--she's SO funny and also leader material.
