the hunger games is... happening at me

isunshowerso the ballad of songbirds and snakes movie came out this fall.
naturally a certain amount of hunger games fandom has been reignited. i was maybe 13 the last time this was a big thing? i think? anyway someone on ao3 posted a fantasy high thg au (the bad kids are successive victors and navigate capitol hell together). so i read it. it was good. then a friend of mine from college recced a series that's the whole trilogy from peeta's point of view. so i read that. it was good. now i'm writing fanfiction about two very minor characters (the district 6 tributes from catching fire). i suppose that technically some of my very first fanfiction was hunger games fanfiction--i did an arts summer camp as a kid where one week was hunger games themed and we had to write a post-canon short story--but this is not something i ever thought i'd do.
i made a spreadsheet of all the known victors and their ages so i could get the ages of the morphlings in my fanfiction roughly right. the brainworms are In Me.
