i've developed a worksona

big news, dreamwidth! i got an internship, which i started last week. ya boi is getting some office experience on the resume for the first time in, uh...... 2 years.

there's a business casual dress code so i've acquired some actually nice pants and etc, because every single job i've had since college i could get away with wearing a t shirt and jeans. i also get a cubicle and an ID badge. it's all very surreal, especially when juxtaposed with my current job-job--at which i take tickets, work with mostly other queer people, the staff is approx. 20 people, and there are dicks all over the walls and that's just part of the artwork.

as such i've accidentally developed a worksona. realized this on friday when someone from my job-job sent me an email and i wrote an extremely formal reply to her and then realized that that's not how we talk to each other at that workplace and had to rewrite the damn thing. it took me an entire hour on friday evening to shed the worksona (i intend to name her but haven't decided on an appropriately cisgender name yet) enough to have a funny conversation with my best friends from college.

tl;dr office jobs are fuckin weird.
